Privacy
Adios collects nothing. This page is the long version of that, and it's short because there's nothing to disclose.
What's collected
Nothing. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no accounts, and no server of mine for any of it to reach.
- No personal information is collected, stored or transmitted.
- No browsing history, no list of what you watched, no page contents.
- No device identifiers, no IP logging, no fingerprinting.
- No third-party SDKs, analytics libraries or ad networks in the app.
- No account, no email address, no sign-up.
What's on your Mac
Three things, all local, none of which leave the machine:
- Whether you picked Auto or Manual.
- How many videos you've watched this month, and which month that is, so the count can reset on the 1st.
- Whether you've bought the lifetime unlock, as reported by Apple's App Store framework on your device.
It lives in the extension's local storage and the app's preferences. Deleting the app deletes it.
Network connections
Adios makes none to me, because there's nothing to connect to.
The only traffic involved is Safari loading YouTube's player from YouTube, exactly as it would without Adios installed. Two other parties are involved in the ordinary way and under their own policies: YouTube/Google, who serve the video and the player, and Apple, who handle the App Store purchase and its receipt. I never see your payment details — Apple processes the purchase.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| A script on youtube.com | To notice you've opened a video page and swap in the embed player. Scoped to youtube.com; it can't read any other site. |
| Local storage | Your Auto/Manual choice and the monthly count. |
| Native messaging | So the extension and the app can exchange setup and purchase status, on your device only. |
GDPR, CCPA, children
Because nothing is collected, there's nothing to request, export, correct or delete. No data-controller relationship arises from using Adios, there's no processing to consent to, and no sale or sharing of personal information — under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or anything comparable. Adios isn't directed at children under 13, and collects nothing from anyone of any age.
Changes and contact
If this ever changes, the date at the bottom of the page changes with it. Questions to adios.contact@pm.me.
